Non profit organizations accepting grants from donors question?

Should a non-profit organization accept a gift with strings attached? Like if a donor wanted to make a large financial contribution,

but it had to go for a specific purpose, would agreeing to it be a good idea?

    I've been working with and for nonprofits for nearly 40 years.

    ALL grants have strings.
