When analyzing ordinal data what is the median and going to tell me about my results?

I did a survey about remote working and included a likert scale where a person had to strongly agree to strongly disagree with the data. I was told because the data is ordinal that i should use the median and mode to analyze the results. But what is this going to tell me about the results by using the median and mode?

It would tell you a great deal actually.

To give an example, let's say a lot of homes are sold for 10,000 and 1 home for 10,000,000.

The average might be 100,000 but the mode would be 10,000. Quite a difference!
