Stop messing with it, put some antiseptic cream on it, and let it grow out.
Also, the very obvious ridges and valleys across it indicate you have a very poor diet.
That could be causing all sorts of health problems, as well as weakening your nails and hair.

If its showing signs of infection see a doctor. Some nail problems slowly grow out and go away. The other nail problems need a specialist.

Cover it with a plaster or tape, so you can't touch it.
