Can I use king size sheets on a queen size bed?

So I was finally able to afford to upgrade from my twin bed to a queen size bed. But I am having issues with my bed sheets. I got queen size bed sheets with a queen heated blanket and all barely fit. I spend every night spending almost an hour making my bed because I have to walk back and forth because unless the sheets are on absolutely perfect, one side is too short. I've measured my bed and my mother's bed and they are both the same: 60×80 and 9 inches thick. But she has no issues with her bedsheets. She got hers from Walmart and I got mine from Kohl's. It makes it hard because I'm a toss and turner at night and the sheets completely fall apart within hours.

My question is, has anyone ever tried using king size sheets on a queen size bed and is it better? I regret buying this bed because I dread making this bed every night. I paid close almost $250 for all the bedsheets and the heated blanket and the only things that fits properly are the bedskirt and the pillowcases. If I could, I'd return them all but I've already slept on them for 3 nights.

Queen fitted sheet can not be used on king size bed as king size bed is 14″ to 18 inches wider (width can vary between 74″ to 78″). ... You could use the flat sheet but keep in mind that because it is about 96″ wide so you will not be able to tuck it under the mattress.

It sounds like you bought the correct size, of bed sheets, but NOT the correct size for the thickness of your mattress.

King sized sheets would likely be too big but they do make larger sized Queen sized sheet sets if you can find them.  I only have a couple of my sets in that size, I think they're either called 'California Queen' or just 'Oversized Queen' sheet set but not all brands make them.

yes a person can do that

a QUEEN mattress is  60 inches by 80 inches

a KING fitted sheet is  78 inches  wide  80 inches long

    and  12 inches deep

a KING FLAT sheet  are 102 inches wide  112 inches long

      QUEEN fitted sheet  is 60 x 80

    QUEEN flat sheet  96 x 102

Make sure your sheets are for deep pockets

You can buy straps that are place under the mattress that hold the fitted sheet in place.

My son bought these and they worked like a charm.

A heated blanket sometimes fits only the top of the bed, not much hangs over.  You certainly can get a king sized electric blanket. I ended up getting a twin size heated blanket for our king sized bed. No need to over the whole bed when I just needed on me.

Make sure you are getting queen sized sheet sets and not the ones that say Full/Queen. Make sure you get deep pockets. A king size fitted sheet will not fit a Queen sized bed.

If you have your receipt Kohl’s will take them back.

    1. the sheets are on the incorrect direction top and bottom are on the edges instead

    2. you'll have a thicker mattress and wish the deeper pocket sheets

    3. the set that you simply picked out just won't be an honest quality set or the precise one you purchased was defective.

If it is a flat sheet, Queen, you will have problems. They just barely fit & slip around.

.  If you have fitted sheets, they have elastic in the corners and that can be stretched OVER a corner and under a bit and then do that with the next corners.  The final corner is the toughest one as that is where the sheet is the least but it can be done by caving in the mattress corner and then stuffing the sheet into that and under.  When the corner springs back to original shape the sheet is held taut. (tight without wrinkles) 60x80 is standard queen.  Fitted are the cat's meow.

King sheets on a Queen bed will be more of a nightmare than your ill fitting Queen sheets.

Are you positive you have Queen sheets and not Full size sheets?? Double check, please. I have never had the right size sheets NOT fit the corresponding mattress size.

Many times you will find bedding sets that are labeled " Full /Queen" size. This" size" always falls short on a Queen size bed, always. But that is typically only the bedding-minus the sheets.

Sometimes the elastic on the fitted sheet is weak and may need to be strengthened for a tighter fit. To keep your bottom sheet from coming undone, you may need to buy a 4 pack of sheet corner holders. They are simply 4 pieces of elastic with fasteners to hold your sheets in place so it stays under the mattress.

For people who toss and turn alot at night, I can see how the sheets would got jumbled up. It is best NOT to sleep in clothing that adds to tugging on the sheets. So, avoid wearing flannel, sweat shirt/pants and any other fabric with  a texture or that clings to the sheets. You should be able to toss and turn without the sheets following your every roll. And, flannel sheets or T-shirt sheets can easily tangle as you turn.

Friend I've got the exact same problems with mine if you have a queen bed the sheets only go on there one way..

Now let me give you some good advice so that you don't go through this nonsense every time that you have to make up the bed. Once you have figured out how to put the sheet on the box spring. Get yourself a can of fabric die. The kind that they sell in the hobby store the kind that never comes out for writing your name and stuff. Then Mark the two bottom corners with a Green Dot.

Next time you'll know that the two bottom corners have green dots and as long as you have two bottom green corners you should be able to line up all of your sheets easily.  King sheets are way bigger than Queen sheets they won't fit properly

You can certainly make the bed with king size sheets.  I wouldn't consider it better.  An option is to buy another set of queen size sheets to see if you have a better fit.  I'm wondering if you washed cotton sheets in hot water and the shrunk?  The only sheet that should be a problem is the fitted sheet.
