Not really, and if we are not careful when we encounter
other-worldly life, we might just get to witness
"judgement day" for the wrong reasons.

Yes.
Religion is an important social construct that provides security, a shared sense of purpose, and encourages people to do good things, not bad things.
It is no coincidence that as religious belief declines in the West, society gets more violent, more selfish, and less pleasant.

The real religion that Jehovah God actually endorses unites people in peace. (Isaiah 2:2-4) In regards to the other religions that are causing so much chaos, disunity and violence, Jehovah God will soon use the governments to destroy them. (Revelation17:15-17) This will be His vengeance against all who have committed atrocities in His name. When all of the opposers to Him are destroyed after that, then the righteous will be able to live forever on Earth in peace. (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9; Proverbs 2:21 & 22; Psalms 37:11 & 29)

"Control" isn't the bad word that it seems many think it is. It can be used for good or evil. Traffic laws are a good form of control.
My answer, btw, is yes.

Try actually understanding religion before you throw it out the window, all these morons at my high school trying to scrutinize something they don't understand anything about. Religion is about giving you morals to live by and guide your actions, and to teach you lessons but nobody reads the actual scriptures they just see what radical religious groups are doing and figure thats what religion is. or they go to church and don't like it even though the church doesn't have jack **** to do with religion other than they spread the gospels.

Yes, many things, like tending to the sick, feeding the hungry, elevating people psychologically and spiritually, and more. Religion is a tool. Like any tool, religion can be used for good or bad. It's those who use the tool who are good or bad, who are doing good or doing bad. If you don't agree because you don't believe in religion or are opposed to religion, then your term "good," being a religious term that whose opposite is "bad," makes your question lack foundation and completely moot. Without religion, nothing is "good" and nothing is "bad." Everything just is what it is.
