They don't. The teaching of hellfire is just a notion made up by clergy(& inspired by pagan religions) to keep parishioners in fear, and isn't from the Bible. The term 'hell' in the scriptures comes from the Greek and Hebrew terms 'Sheol' and 'Hades', both which refer to the common grave of mankind. When people(& even animals) go there, they simply return 'to dust', a.k.a. break down to the bare elements they were made from and cease to exist. (Ecclesiastes 3:19 & 20) The same thing happened to Adam when he sinned in Eden. (Genesis 3:19) When someone goes there, they feel/know nothing, completely unconscious. (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6 & 10)

Some claim the 'lake of fire' mentioned in Revelation refers to hellfire, but in reality it's symbolic language for eternal destruction. We know this because the scriptures mention that death(a condition or state of being) as well as the grave/'hell'(any place where the dead are buried/laid to rest) being thrown into it. (Revelation 20:14) The Devil himself will also be thrown there, and he's a spirit that isn't able to be affected by fire. (Revelation 20:10)

Side note-This would also debunk the notion that the Devil lives in hell, torturing the souls of those that go. Currently the Devil is on Earth, having been thrown here after losing the war in Heaven. (Revelation 12:7-9)

The pain is pain of the spirit obviously, not of the body. A burning conscience.

Good question. For that matter how can unsaved people feel pain in their MORTAL bodies in hell?

The bible mentions nothing on the unsaved being given immortal bodies that can be tormented in fire for eternity in hell.

Hell-fire christians are not thinking this matter through with their claims people will go to a burning hell in eternity where they will be consciously and physically in a state of pain and suffering.

Only believers who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation (1Cor 15:1-4 & Eph 1:13) will have immortal and incorrupt bodies through the resurrection (1Cor 15:20-23 & 52-54) NOT the unsaved.

In the name of common bible sense how can the unsaved be given immortal/ corrupt bodies! that live forever in eternity being tormented?

The fate of the unsaved is DEATH (Rom 6:23) not life! The second death in the lake of fire is a permanent death where the unsaved are destroyed out of existence never to exist again (Rev 20:13-15)

Annihilation is supported by words like "perish" (John 3:16) "destroy" (Matt 10:28) and "destruction" (2Thess 1:9) not eternal torment.

The unsaved do not get immortality and eternal life to be punished forever that's silly! They get death the opposite of life.

    Sheol (Hebrew) meaning the grave.

Hades (Greek) meaning the abode of the dead.

Hell (English) original meaning a covering of the dead in the grave.

Just how the devil, beast, and false prophet are tormented with brimstone in the lake of fire (Rev 20:10) for a period of time "Day and Night" we do not know.

They are not human beings but "spirit" beings but its clear that God can have them punished/tormented in fire before he totally destroys them.

    I like how you think

But their soul can still feel 0pain

Like there's things that make your soul happy isn't? And things to crush your soul

Souls can feel pain. That's all we are : souls in a vessel called a body

And trust me if you ever lost a child, that's when your soul hurts-not only your heart.

The fires of hell are regrets.
