I'm getting shortness of breath?
Sometimes I wake up in the middle of night unable to breathe. I have to sit up as I gasp for air :/ This has been happening more often and now I notice I feel the same shortness of breath in waking hours. I will just be sitting there and suddenly feel the need to take a deep breath. It doesnt feel like its enough so I have to keep taking several deep breaths to feel better. Anyone else feel this?

It could be sleep apnea, especially if you are overweight. The weight of the fat around the top of the chest and the neck presses down.
If you feel very sleepy during the day, that is another indication.
See a doctor, but for the time being, always sleep on your front or side, not your back, so you keep your airway clear.

Many people breathe too shallow and don't get enough air. ESPECIALLY now that people are sitting with their heads down looking at phones. That sort of crushes off air where if you head is back like your looking up you get more air. Try to remember to look up and take a few deep breaths every once in a while. And if you sleep on your back with a pillow that can crush off your windpipe.

You need a sleep study. You may have OSA or obstructive sleep apnea. Or you may have nothing. But you need to be evaluated.

You should have that checked out because in could be caused by a few different things including congestive heart failure. Also make sure to have your blood pressure checked.
