Meghan said that her passport, keys and driver's license were taken away from her.  What do you make of that?

I was thinking what if she just refused to give it to them - what would they have done?  And by taking them away, does that mean she couldn't get them back anytime she wanted by just asking for them?  Obviously, it made her feel more like a prisoner - and that's understandable to me - but was it just about keeping them in a safe place where she would have access to them whenever she wanted?  I would really like to hear from the palace about this.

She did not tell the whole story.  She told it looking for sympathy - that's pathetic.  When a royal, a princess, she will have a chauffeur.  She won't need to drive herself, and she shouldn't, given the paparazzi.  She wouldn't be able to keep her eyes on the road.  She also would not need her driver's license and carrying it on her would be a risk to her.  She wouldn't need it for anything.  She was treated like a princess.  Apparently, she resented that, yet in her interview, she complained about the lack of security she now has.  So, when she had it, she didn't want it and now that she doesn't have it, she wants it.  She is a very unlikable and contemptuous person.  I don't know if they would give them back IF she had asked, perhaps if she left them at home.  It wouldn't be that she needed it for anything.  She could not have felt like a prisoner.  She had freedom to come and go as she pleased.  I mean Diana used to go to the staff kitchen in the basement and talk with them and nobody said boo hoo about it.  It was inappropriate but, they never banned her for socializing with the lower class.  We were all warned about Megan's behavior by her sister and various celebrities who had worked with her.  She has a following of people who don't like her, who don't actually follow her. But Harry's smitten, so let him have her.  If they are divorced down the road, he will SO regret it.

--  As a "Working Royal" she did not need to carry money, she was driven everywhere and when travelling overseas, one of her minders would carry her passport and have it stamped.

--  The queen and Prince Philip never carry money and the queen does not, and has never had a drivers licence since becoming Queen. She had one during WW-2 when she was a driver in the Army.  Prince Phillip had to surrender his drivers licence recently after his car accident. On most occasions they are driven everywhere.--  Now Megan is no longer a "working royal," those items would have been returned to her, and she would have to go through customs and immigration as any other person, although through the VIP section.

Who does she claim took them? Her parents? The police? The neighbors? That strange weirdo who hangs out at the 7-11 on weekends?

If she wants them back, she could ask for them back. If they wont give them back, she could call the police and/or get a replacement copy and change her locks.

Obviously, she did get her passport and driver's license back since she moved to Canada and then the US.

I don't know for certain, but in that job she didn't really need to keep any of those items on her person or put away in a drawer. When someone joins the royal family, they are expected to comply with many different rules than they're used to.

Security........... she didn't need any of those day to day and losing them would/could  cause a real security issue..............and you shouldn't beleive all she says

"I would really like to hear from the palace about this.".....you will be waiting a lonnnnnnnnggggggggggg time for that one! "Never complain, never explain" is the favourite saying of the real royals

Madam Meghan just thought she could continue doing what she wanted, when she wanted but also get 100% benefits of 'being' royal......... even  a basically educated person ( which she is highly educated) KNOWS you are a servant to the British people and royal security is priority, not 'her' wants and previous lifestyle

Probably done for a security issue:  indeed to make it harder for her to just up and drive to the market (or where ever) - force her to rely on Palace controlled security teams and trained drivers.

The US Secret Service would consider this part of inserting a protectee into "the bubble."   Naturally it would feel really weird at first.   Perfect example of "trading Liberty for security."   Seeing as how any protective detail admits there can never be 100% security, sounds like she realized she traded all of her Liberty - and for what?

your first mistake is believing everything she claims.
