New moon bringing past person?

Went on a hook up date six months ago. Person apparently went away for six months despite covid. I deleted his snap chat a week or so after the date since he gave me a vague response, no mention of second date or anything. He just got back contacted me 6 months later . I explained I felt hurt by how he came across and thought that he didn’t like me, he never mentioned a second meeting. However , he explained that it was never his intention and it wasn’t personal just how he jokes. He apologized many times on the phone. Now he says he wants to go for coffee he was wondering what happened to me. 

New moon is suppose to bring new people in our lives, is he trouble? Should I give him another chance ?
