Are there property managers in Dallas TX that allow low income and bad credit?

I just started a new job, about $4000/month but I only have one paystub so far after being unemployed for about 3 months (bouncing between jobs cuz I got sick and transportation was hard up until now) and I have one eviction on my credit history. I can put about $3k down for first month + deposit. Are there any landlords of managers that allow this kinda stuff? I'd greatly prefer a house over an apartment as well cuz I have a service dog who is a husky and I'd like her to have space to run.

Slim to nil chance with poor credit  & an eviction. Most property managers will not rent to you.  You may have luck with a sublease or something.

Probably not, especially now with the eviction moratorium still in place.  It's not impossible, though. You may get lucky & find a landlord who will accept you.

Do you owe any money to previous landlords, especially the one who had you evicted?  How long ago were you evicted?

I'm a Canadian, and I don't know much about your laws & legal system. But I can tell you this much, if you're trying to get back on your feet, you have done a great job so far that you landed a job that pays 4,000 a month, any home owner that is trying to rent out their basement suite for some extra cash, for a year, would be wonderful for an elderly couple that is looking for a bit of security to. They might even like your dog also.

Just look for basement suites. Forget about the apartment blocks, they're full of slumlords.

    Best of Luck

I don't recall any landlords in the Dallas area that state..."low income and prior evictions welcome".  Good luck....

Look for mom and pop operations where they may have one unit for rent.

Check www.apartments.com and www.rent.com and search by city.

Yes there are, but the property they rent is in the least desirable neighborhoods.  Or the other option is to put a much larger deposit down (like 3-4x what is required, and it looks like you only have 2x).

Save yourself some money on the applications and tell every prospective landlord the truth about your credit situation and willingness to make a larger deposit, before you apply.  Doing so shows integrity and allows you to explain how you have improved yourself since being the deadbeat person and tenant you once were that led to you bad credit and eviction.  The landlord/manager will instruct you whether or not it is worth it to go forward.  Good Luck.

I doubt there is any who will rent to you, previously evicted and filed to pay your debts  so why would any new landlord take the risk

.all you can do is be honest and ask
