I asked him to stay but he left?

Question

I was going through a tough time recently and I didn’t want to be alone so I asked my boyfriend to stay but instead he went and played basketball with his friends. He said he would see me later but he didn’t and I don’t know how to feel. I never really ask anything of my boyfriend because I don’t want to seem demanding but I’m kind of annoyed.

If you haven't asked him to stay in the past six months and this was serious; job loss, death of a loved one, critical medical diagnosis, etc. then perhaps you have a right to be upset. But some people are in constant crisis and they're just draining to be around. So check yourself and if you're certain you're not a drama queen with perpetual emotional needs then you can safely assume this guy just isn't very clued into emotions. Either that or he's not interested in an emotions based relationship with you.
