Why can't the U.S. build an Ellis Island-type facility on the Mexican border?

Better yet.. put them on boats and send them to Ellis Island.. for good!

Or maybe we could just remind people that the proper way to request asylum is to file at a foreign Consulate in your home country. This business of just show up and put yourself through hell instead of making it a simple exchange of paperwork is the problem. The people who organize these treacherous journeys have motives other than helping legitimate refugees find safe haven. 

......and what use would it be to illegals who avoid immigration facilities now and avoid the legal route? They are law breakers and if they were legally eligable of asylum then they would follow the law, they don't................ and the US do not follow their own immigration laws that are already in place...so 'why don't the US impliment the laws already in place"  then they would not have the issues with illegals like they do

The democrats want open borders because they believe inviting countless millions of people into the country will destroy the USA.

We have plenty of unused land on the islands near Alaska. How about sending them there.
