Do you say "between you and I"?

Because it sounds posher than you and me?

Update:

Oh and this question HAS been in "language and culture" but failed to attract any responses.

No, it doesn't work that way. It is not about being posh.

The correct expression is 'you and I' if we are the subject of the sentence or 'you and me' if we are the object of the sentence.

Since the expression you used is 'BETWEEN ... etc', it shows we are the object, not the subject so it is correct to say 'between you and me'.

For example, 'You and I fell in love with the same girl' but 'She could not choose between you and me'.

It's not 'posher'; utilizing 'you as well as me' in the wrong context simply makes you look weak as a result of a prospective issue with your education.

    I say....'me and you'...but I'm a ill-bred American...like that makes standard English language.
