Why do Christians la-la-by themselves into believing they can handle God's fiery presence when Daniel & John were terrified of it?

There's a problem with fear religion and those that propagate it, Forrest.  Fear of God and fear of "punishment" actually show that one doesn't know God, and doesn't know what love is, because God is love.

  Another problem is taking the Old Testament picture of an angry God, which is a penultimate, incorrect, revelation of God, and adding it to the New Testament, ultimate, revelation of God revealed in Jesus.  One supersedes the other, you don't combine them.  That makes a mish-mash picture of God.

1 John 4:18

 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

After the Resurrection, all the justified in Christ will have brand new, glorified bodies that will be more than comfortable in God's immediate presence.

Because Christians have an Advocate to plead their case, 1 John 2:1.

Jesus Christ did promise to send The Comforter, also Jesus Christ said to 'fear not".  You know FT there is a time for all things.  Abiding in Christ lifts our hearts, minds and souls in ways that offer us peace, love, joy... fruit of the Spirit and the mentioning of these attributes reveal to us God's presence as well. Jesus Christ came to offer us a 'living trust'; His Living Testament invites all who are weary to come to Him, to be reconciled with God; why is it we don't discuss how wondrous all of the positives are? Or speak about the Glory that is revealed to and for us; the Glory that God wants to see reflected in and through us!!?

Because modern day christardism has diluted the vengeful, narcissistic murder fairy of the old testament into a lovey-dovey huggy feely jewish hippy who totally only came here to bring peace, and love, not swords.

What makes you say or believe that? The living God's presence in our lives through the Holy Spirit is one thing... to be in His actually presence is another.

you have many rude wrong assumptions....THE BORN AGAINS HAVE THEIR NAMES IN THE BOOK OF LIFE...THOSE WILL RAPTURE when the time comes.

Who says that?

The 'Holy Spirit' is made up of many messengers, including low level ones. Even those arrive with such powerful imagery and emotion that my head feels like it will explode. I am fully aware that the Presence of GOD would kill me and that the only part of my 'person' encountering Him is my deepest unconscious well of experience. 

When we speak to GOD, we are rarely in His actual Presence. It is more like an 'ultra-gen' fully integrated version of the Internet. When I have gotten close, I end up on my face in a heap unable to speak. 

* Why would I lie about my personal experiences? I am a Christian mystic. All Christians have these same experiences except they tend to be less 'conscious' than mine. They are the basis of our faith. You really are clueless.
