They're there for a reason. Auto companies wouldn't put them in if they weren't life-saving. Adults are only required to wear them in the backseat in a couple of states, trusting your good judgment.
Do what you will, but they certainly save lives in a crash.

Yes, I do. My oldest sister got me into that habit. Now I feel naked without a seatbelt.
