I liked Van Halen II better.

I’m not saying it’s better, but I’ll go with Highway to Hell. Van Halen II is really good, but it’s just more of Van Halen I (which was also really good). They knew the formula worked on their debut album, so they stuck with it for the second album.

AC/DC and Van Halen are two totally different bands. It's like comparing steak and potatoes to fish tacos. The two bands played two completely different styles, they exuded a completely different vibe, and they attracted different kinds of fans. The best you could hope for is to receive replies from people who prefer one over the other. Personally, I like both, I'd probably give the edge to "Highway to Hell." The Van Halen debut album was great, and I think the follow-up was much weaker, but AC/DC is just more my speed. I have a lot more AC/DC in my collection than I do Van Halen, and I stopped paying attention to Van Halen after David Lee Roth left, though they did have a few decent songs with Hagar.

Highway to Hell. Van Halen's debut album was far better than their second.

It's some kind of sacrilege to compare such things. But if had to, I lean to Bon and the guys as well. Both albums are great though. I prefer not to compare great things. I say just enjoy them for what they are on their own.

Highway to Hell in my opinion. I love Bon Scott as their singer, he was so much better than Brian Johnson. Eddie Van Halen was one of the greats, I just could never really get into the band as a whole(DLR or Hagar).
