Why do Christians refuse to believe that Jesus demands that we do what he says ?

God doesn't "demand" anything of us. He created us with free will, the right and ability to make our own decisions. He offers us eternal happiness with Him in Heaven, and clearly defines how to accept that gift. And He warns us of the dangers of choosing another path. But force us? No way. We make our own decisions.

Jesus 'commands' based on a legal declaration of universal authority, (Matthew 28:18-20), which we either reject or accept. When we accept, we are legally received into a legal Covenant with GOD that is confirmed by an arriving prodigy that contains all commands and the ability to obey them.

"And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him remains in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you remain in Him." (1 John 2:27).

YOU don't do what Jesus says.  You can't.  Because you don't know what Jesus says.

If you claim to know what Jesus says, then you are lying.  But you won't let yourself believe that, because you think you would be lost if you didn't know what Jesus says.

But, you are a fallible human.  You are mistaken.  Why do you refuse to accept the truth?

Do YOU do what Jesus tells you?  THAT'S all you need to worry about.  Leave off worrying about what other people are (or are not) doing.  You've clearly got a few obedience problems of your own that should be the focus of your attention.  You can't use the lack of total compliance by others as an excuse to not comply, yourself.

Do you think you're perfect?  Don't distract yourself by finding fault with others.

Mostly because Luther said that faith alone was enough for salvation, that following the teachings of Jesus was strictly optional.

Demands?  He ask us to choose and He honors freewill

  • Demands?  Wrong word

We do our best, why do you not believe that God honors our best, forgives our failures and gives us mercy
