The main pump would empty 4/5 of the tank by 8 pm, so the auxiliary pump needs to empty 1/5 of the tank. Hence the auxiliary pump must run for (1/5)/(1/12) hrs = 2 hours and 24 minutes. Turn it on at 5:36 p.m.
