Can you check a piece of luggage as a replacement for baby equipment on Ryan air?

I’m flying with my baby soon and am aware that you get two free pieces of baby equipment to put in the hold. Do you know if I could swap one of these pieces for a bag instead of say.. a car seat?

No, you cannot.  That accommodation is made to allow parents to more easily and affordably travel with the equipment they need for their baby.  Only the infant items can be checked for free; you have to pay the prices listed for luggage.

    No, you can't do that.

No. If you could do that, every passenger would check three pieces of luggage. Ryan Air has VERY restrictive baggage rules. I don't like that, but it's a trade off for very cheap fares. It's a trade off you make when you book the flight.
