should baseball get rid of league awards, and only award MLB as a whole?

like every other sport does such as NFL and NBA

no more NL or AL awards, but just have MLB cy young.  MLB MVP.  etc.

more interleague play is happening more often now, and throughout the year as well.  not just for  a couple weeks in the middle of the season.

wouldn't a play want to know they're the best out of all 30 MLB teams, and not just 15?

Update:

isn't the only different rule right now the DH in the AL?  that will be gone in a couple years most likely.

Well keep in mind leagues and players like awards. It's free publicity. so they're not going to cut back.  but your logic makes sense.

It doesn't really matter to me, but the two leagues still do have differences.

  • The NHL has been awarding individual awards for decades.  The NFL has an "Honours" event the night before the Super Bowl game.  The NBA awards its MVP during the playoffs..  They typically have an awards ceremony after the season and prior to the start of the NHL Entry Draft.  MVP, best rookie, best defenceman, best defensive forward, gentlemanly play, most points, most goals by an individual, MVP as voted on by players, best goaltender, best goaltending tandem, coach of the year.

None of the other sports have different rules between their conferences.
