How come the American media never tells the truth?

Let me guess.  You voted for Trump.  Trump is an expert at creating alternate realities that gullible people let themselves get sucked into.  One of his best tolls is to call every story he doesn't like "fake news".  If all you watch is Fox "News"/TrumpTV you are lead to believe that professional journalists, who's reputation is based upon yelling the truth, then its natural for you to think the "American media" is lying for some reason.  The Washington Post and the NYT value their reputation for telling the truth.  Fox "News" calls themselves an "entertainment" network.  When sued for their lies Fox "News" told the court that they are not a source of news but an entertainment network.

The three major news bureaus in America are controlled by Democrats.  What did you expect?

Let me guess, the "truth" that COVID is fake, the Earth is flat, Trump is still president?

But they do.  You just choose not to believe it.  This is all on you.

Because not enough people want the truth

they just want to be told they are going to be okay

That's the what their target audience wants.  Consider this passage which may have some bearing on the matter.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

Even within Christianity, there are those who will avoid preachers who preach all the Bible, including the parts we don't want to hear (e.g., love your enemies; Mt 5:44) and instead gravitate toward those that say what they like hearing (e.g., God is so loving, he would never send anyone to hell).

It works very much the same in the media world.  For example, there was no evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians, and the press knew that.  If he had, they would have written numerous fully-documented articles on the matter.  But their target audience that buys the products in their commercials (and thus keeps food on the table for the reporters), didn't want to hear that, so for over two years they just kept posting stories about Trump colluding with the Russians, making sure they only interviewed those who thought he had colluded, and avoiding any interviews with anyone who thought otherwise.

Unfortunately, a little over half of American have "itching ears" that can only be scratched by those who tell them what they want to hear, rather than the truth.

Back in the 1970s, the truth was that the best way of getting oil out of the ground in Venezuela was to let the experts do it and with a profit incentive so that they will want to continue doing it.  But the people didn't want to hear that because that was money going to Big Oil rather than to them.  So they gravitated toward media that said what they wanted to say.  Now they are paying the price for rejecting the truth.

American media NEVER lies.  That's because American media hasn't existed since 1353 when the volcano exploded.  Why don't you already know that?

Not only American news outlets stretch the truth, but most news outlets do so as well. 

Because they are helping Democrats destroy the country via propaganda.
