Settle our dispute?

My wife does all the cooking at home, she very rarely makes microwave meals and makes very nice home cooked food.

However when she does make a microwave meal, on two occasions I have noticed that she does not microwave the meals for the time period on the packet as per the microwave wattage. Both times she cooked them for longer than they were supposed to be cooked for, so not undercooked (but only by chance as she refuses to check the time on the packet and bases her predictions on previous similar microwave meals being careful of undercooking)

I have asked her today and many other times before to please make any food she makes me or my daughter for the time period on the packet just in case we have any ill effects... however she will not agree to do this and believes I am being anal.

I say the time it took to discuss this together and to write this question has likely taken more time than it would for her to check the packet time periods for meals for the next 10 years.

There are two sides to every story and she has agreed to how I have reflected the story.

Who is right?

You have stated your preferences to your wife.  Do not keep bringing up the matter.  Let her change her ways in her own time.

Stop complaining. At any rate she can and will cook.

Google "What is a Current Event?" and "What is Media/journalism?" ,  and then post in "Family".

Why don't you take over all the microwave cooking and let her cook from scratch.  At least then, you'd know that your food is cooked properly and she won't have to 'wing it' with the microwave.

Microwaves are all different.  Those times really are just a suggestion.  Microwave meals usually have the meat precooked and your really just thawing and warming up.  If it looks and feels done, it most likely is.

Start listening to your wife more. Better overcook a little than die of some dreadful illness. Besides, you can cook your own the way you like, do not get the daughter involved in this. Mother knows best. Someone else in her place would have already stopped coking for you. You do not deserve a home-cooked meal. You seem like a Fault Finder and a very poor one at that.

why don't you cook (microwave) some 2-3 meals a week, and your wife home cooks the rest. that way YOU can microwave for the time on the package. I'm sure she could use the break too.
