Could there be a world without owners? ?

No owners, superiors, etc. Or where everyone collectively owns everything? Could this be possible and would the world be a better place?

I grew up with some brothers that lived in a collective world. I prefer ownership of my own private underwear and put padlocks on my dresser. Later they shared their girls, called them chicken heads. I also did not subscribe. Now I've spent most of my life working hard to provide for myself and children. My brothers who have done nothing with their lives feel entitled to some of that. If the world was truly this collective would my brothers rise up and contribute or would I lower to their level? I will be superior as I am now because of the effort I make. No I won't slave away for them, how would that be any sort of fair?

No owners or superiors means no accountability and nothing gets done. Along with ownership comes responsibility. If you own that house, you're responsible for trimming that tree. If you're the landlord, you're responsible when the plumbing needs fixing. If you're the superior you get the blame if something goes wrong. Being the leader means protecting others and walking in front into danger. Owners and superiors serve a purpose.

God owns your soul. The body is only a vessel that you lease from God.

That always looks good on paper until you realize that the living standards of the power structure are commensurate to those of wealthy people in other nations. A typical Soviet apparatchik under Stalin had no need for cash but would still have looked like the elite to anyone paying attention. There's only so much you can do to circumvent human nature. "Some animals are more equal than others" remains as true as it ever was.

    A world without ownership? Sure

But any decent society will respect your personal possessions.

Farleft aka anarcho-communist types just want the means of production to be owned collectively, not your bed and bicycle

Sounds like a world of conflict. So attractive women must become roommates with a guy who just wants to schtupp her? “Sorry, you can’t ask me to leave... I own your apartment too”. Sounds great.

Collectivism results in massive human tragedy and disaster wherever it has been implemented.

No because no matter what you will always have someone leading others.

Even if we descended into anarchy we would eventually emerge with despotic leaders.

If everyone was free of any selfish impulses it could work.  Since we are humans and not fault free angels that means it is doomed to fail.

Ask Russians how that worked out.
