In what ways do you think you "know" God?

 I dont since gods dont exist outside of the religious mindset.

I know gods are made-up and do not actually exist.

When I was 14 years old and just looking for an excuse to give up, God overwhelmed me with his unimaginable love and forgiveness.  Now I can see how my subconscious mind might have manufactured a feeling of love -- but an entirely new sensation?  Nah.

The first time I baptized somebody, the Holy Ghost filled me, body and spirit, with a burning witness of truth.  Again, a new sensation, one I hadn't felt before.

Still moving the goalposts, Einstein?  I have seen miraculous healings in response to prayer, and placebos don't work on babies.

I have read many of the books mankind has written telling you what the gods are and how they think not just one.

There are different types of knowing. For instance, if someone told you that Oprah Winfrey is a white woman, based on what you know of her, though you don't know her personally, you can accurately correct the person. God gives to us His Spirit and His words. If we do not accept what God says about Himself, then we are departing from the truth that God has given to us regarding His identity. A lot of fans get angry when movie makers and writers mess up the established characters that they know. God has established His Truth, and His identity. Then there is the other kind of knowing, the intimate and personal knowing, being in someone's posse, family.... Moses, Abraham, Elijah...etc... these were first-hand witnesses, but God also promises that if we seek Him with all of our heart, soul, strength, and mind -- that we will find Him.

Yes, I did it earlier, and my question was (correctly) reported.

I have evidence for, and therefore believe, that God is known as "love".  I recognize his character, which was demonstrated by Jesus on the cross.

  Over the last decade or so, that is how I've come to know him and his character, through prayer, through listening to him, through interaction with others and by following the way of Jesus.
