Why do people tells us to help each other, yet won't actually help raise money for a mother & Special Needs child to get suitable a home?
Currently the child is in foster care, and the mother needs a place that is more accommodating to keeping the child in the programs for the Special Needs & also be closer to work at the same time. I have had a fundraiser (for $6500.00 to cover all costs for new rental and get utilities turned on) running for 2 months and not one person has donated, even though I share on multiple social media platforms & I've made it very clear that I will personally be traveling over 900 miles to cover the rental of a moving truck and help the mother to move everything from one home to the other.
Do people really only care about themselves and those that their little circles of contacts can see them "caring" about?

Of course people are thinking that you're trying to scam. Duh. It doesn't matter if you have a lot social medias to show for it. THINK. It's not hard.

because too many people don't try to help themselves (ie not getting prego young and unmarried, usually repeatedly...)too many blow the chance they are given...too many just expect hand outs instead of a hand up.
6500 is a heck of a lot or money, even in NJ that is an extraordinary amount. in a decent neighborhood in NJ (a higher cost of living state), 4000 would cover 1st, last month, security and utility set up (2 bedroom)...as well as a uhaul. maybe a church has someone who will use his truck and a couple guys to donate time to move furniture...
what is the mother contributing? if she can't even pay 1st month rent, there is an issue with this plan.
too many people have options to help themselves, but refuse to exercise those options...for example, 2 single mothers partnering to form a house hold and share expenses. a single mother taking a 1 bedroom if that is all she can afford.
if child services will allow it, in a 1 bedroom, this kid could have the bedroom and the mom could sleep on the couch.....
so the kids in foster care now, what is mom doing to save some money..is she working 60+ hours to week to save the money to get an apartment?
