what does this mean?

as long as i can remember, i’ll blink & once in a while i’ll see a flash of light or some sort of burst of images. it always makes me flinch bc i don’t expect it. what is that? does that mean somethings wrong?

    It's just a visual artifact in the retina, optic nerve, or brain.  Blinking makes a sudden change of the visual information entering the eye, and the entire visual system has to do something with it.  Also, if you blink hard like a quick eye-clench, that change in pressure in the eyes can trigger a visual stimulation that the eyes send to the brain.
