If I need to get my glasses tightened, but I can’t see without it at all, what should I do?

I think it takes maybe a week for them to finish it and get it back to u, but with school and everything I really need these glasses, I can’t see at all. And my old glasses are getting harder to look through, so like now I’m stuck. Y’all have any ideas?

Don't sit around "thinking" it'll take a week. Pick up the phone and find out! Your optician can advise you much better than we can.

PS Don't refer to your glasses as "it". They are "them".

If you purchased your glasses from your eye doctor and sense there might be an issue, your best bet is to have them check it out.

He or she will have a good sense of whether there is a problem with the fit, or if the lenses were made correctly. Your eye doctor may also wish to reexamine your eyes and check to see if any issues with your eyesight have developed since your last eye exam.

I worked as an opthalmic technician for a High St opticians for 8 years.... tightening glasses takes 2 minutes.... if that..... and the opticians ARE open. Don't understand your problem.... and if you are REALLY desperate, you can tighten them yourself, with a fine screw driver.

Tightening is a five minute adjustment.  Go to Wal-Mart and they will probably do it for free regardless of whether you bought them there or not.

Simple repairs can be done while you wait at any optician.. If you need a new prescription they will repair your current ones so they are wearable until you get your new ones.  My husband ended up with super glued glasses for a few days. There are a few one to three day places for glasses. A nd if your prescription is a simple one then there are a few one hour places.

Any decent optical shop can improve the fit of your glasses while you wait, so long as the frames are plastic. Many can do wirerims just as easily. They do have to send away rimless.

If you didn't buy the glasses at the optical shop you go to, ask up front about the cost.
