Dissenting opinions aka right wing lies, trolling and propaganda like what you post? Yeah, it certainly looks like it.

Probably just a matter of feeling that they do not make enough cash from advertisements.

If it's truly going to "read-only" I'd like to delete some of the questions I've asked over the years. Will they let us have THAT much before taking it from us forever?

Just remember that this site is now owned by Verizon wireless. We can show our displeasure by choosing other phone and internet options out there.

The Democrat/Liberal/Socialists will never be able to implement Socialism in America as long as they permit dissenting opinions.

The social media platforms in the US are being fashioned after the Chinese social media platforms.

Possibly. They didn't tell us their intentions. They are only telling us what they will do, and stop telling us when they reopen for "Read only" use. Basically they are saying they don't want the public to use this site any more, except to read it. If they censor conservatives by deleting their posts, I wouldn't be surprised, many sites are already censoring people. It makes Yahoo seem complicit in censoring the public like the Chinese communists do their public.

How do you people take the closure of an ancient, poorly maintained service and turn it into a conspiracy?

I doubt it. This place has gone to hell and is now basically a place to come to rant and prove the other side wrong. There hasn't been any real political discussion for ages.

No.  They shut it down because it isn't making a profit.  Only very stupid people think there is anything more to it than that.

It's probably more a function of Corporate Indifference, but yes, I do believe part of the equation is to do away with people expressing a difference of opinion that runs contrary to the progressive agenda that Yahoo/Verizon seem to endorse or meekly accept.

Doing away with differences of opinion is a main element of the Progressive Agenda, after all.
