It's due to the corona virus. BAsically, dipshits thought that if they attack asians, the virus would go away, seeing as how the virus originated in China. The attacker in the linked article was a transient woman with the Hispanic surname, Montoya. Cops say it was completely random and saw nothing to suggest ethnicity was a factor.
