How to tell this guy I like him after I pretty much dissed him?

Okay so I was "publicly humilated" by my ex on facebook when he inboxed this girl telling her he wanted to do sexual favors for her, and she pretty much exposed him online. People saw pictures of me and him from his page and saw that I was the girl being cheated on. It sucked but I'm glad I've moved on. Anyway, around that time this guy confessed to me that he liked me and wanted to get to know me. I pretty much blew him off because I needed time to heal. I now find myself looking back at his messages and the things that he was saying to me is what I've always wanted to hear from a man. He was complimenting me and actually said the words I LIKE YOU. He was just so straight forward. I'm crushing on him and want to tell him but I'm too afraid that he'll reject me or that he likes someone else now. I don't know what to do or even say? Any help? Thank you for reading. 😘

Simply message him and apologize, telling 
him what you told us, that you needed time 
to heal after what you went through.

Tell him what you said here. Something along the lines of "I am so sorry that the last time we communicated I was so rude to you, but I was still hurting from being cheated on and then finding it all was out, so publicly. 
Anyway I just wanted to apologize for my behaviour as I am not usually that hurtful person. I hope you can understand". 
Then leave it up to him whether he accepts that olive branch and chooses to communicate with you - or not.
I suggest if he does you take it SLOWLY. Really get to know him, and let him get to know the real you.
