Sounds like an excuse someone would use to act like a sh*t bag.
That's not directed towards you. It makes me think of people that believe that quote "if you can't handle me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best."
It's abused to hell and back and some people think they can treat others however they want because of some quote they saw on facebook.
