    The given word equation is baloney.  The easiest way to correct it would be to say:

    Calcium metal added to silver nitrate solution produces dissolved calcium nitrate and solid silver.

    I see no compelling reason to use state labels, since there is nothing in this question that requires them.  (But if you really need them, the question gives them all.)

    skeleton formula equation:

    Ca + AgNO3 → Ca(NO3)2 + Ag

    balanced:

    Ca + 2 AgNO3 → Ca(NO3)2 + 2 Ag

    [I don't know if it matters, but the calcium will also react with the water in which the silver nitrate is dissolved, like this:

    Ca + 2 H2O → Ca(OH)2 + H2 ]
