Are MRIs loud?

My doctor wants to do an MRI on my brain cause of the recent headaches that been getting worse and behavior changes I been having as well as my very bad insomnia. I don’t know how I feel about that. I hear they’re loud and take a while. I don’t know what I’ll do if they do find something.

Yes, an MRI is loud, and they give you ear protection when you get it.  You can still hear it, and it is rather fun.  A wide variety of metallic bangs, trills, clinks, etc.

They take a few minutes; but if only doing your head, not as long.  The problem is if you are claustrophobic; otherwise, no problem.

Your doctor will decide what to do if they find out something.

Not loud,  but annoying.   Remember that it is how they can see the inside of your body and endure.
