Did China actually eradicate poverty?
Their statistics say poverty is now at 0, but I find this hard to believe considering the amount of laborers working for starvation wages.

No. Eradication is an almost impossible goal. There are always people who slip through the cracks. Yet the lowest paid worker in China can afford food and a roof over their head. The same cannot be said in the USA. Two or even three jobs are necessary to survive for some people.

they have indeed moved over 300 million Chinese out of poverty into the middle class which is why they are now almost at he same GDP as USA.. As for the poor left in china, it's more about lifting them out of extreme poverty into just above poverty. It is measure differently than USA. A poor person in USA is one who live in a trailer has a old car and several TV's- That would be middle class in China.

"Slave wages," not "starvation wages." There's no such thing as "starvation wages." China stakes its claim it has eradicated poverty on its population being fed and housed, the state providing housing and food to all claiming need of food and/or housing. Remember, even slaves on plantations were housed and fed, so by China's definition, they weren't in poverty either.

Who knows? I know the people have a lot of intestinal parasites!
But, look at their lives: They live under Communism. Dissidents are KILLED. You do NOT disagree with the gov in china. They slave all day to make less than $1, so do you wonder why Nike, Apple and all those money-making businesses like to go there?
So, perhaps they all get a bowl of rice, but they are told what to think. They have starvation of the spirit.
