What is your opinion of Will Ospreay being the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion?
Honestly I'm not a fan of NJPW rewarding him after it came out that he's a sexual predator during pro wrestling speak out last year. I guess because it didn't happen in China, NJPW doesn't care. He should have been fired

I think Kota Ibushi deserved a long run as Champion. Nor was i happy with New Japan Pro Wrestling Merging The IWGP Intercontinental Championship with the IWGP World Heavyweight Title. New Japan Pro Wrestling held The IWGP Intercontinental Title Tournament in The United States in 2011 and my brother and I were fortunate enough to buy tickets and talk to other Fans who follow and watch Japanese Wrestling Promotions. As for IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He is innocent until proven guilty and I haven't seen him actually be charged with anything. I will be following the storylines his Factions work with.

First and foremost, the charges against Ospreay are kind of iffy, but none of them list him personally as a sexual predator. It's been alleged that Ospreay did have a woman kicked out of a venue on behalf of his friend, and possibly even used his clout on the independent scene to blackball her from the territory, but Will himself hasn't been accused of sexual misconduct; just being a massive prick, and even those charges are becoming flimsier by the day now that there are reports that Ospreay had nothing to do with the woman's ejection from the building.
On to brass tacks though; I'm not a fan of Ospreay winning the belt because it does highlight a growing tone deaf nature in New Japan that implies they don't seem to understand that a western audience is going to want to watch guys like Ospreay or Elgin because of these damning accusations against them. Outside of that, it also cuts short a promising reign for Kota Ibushi that was just gaining some momentum.
On the plus side of things, I'm happy that Ospreay's faction is getting spotlight. I've been a fan of Jeff Cobb for a few years now, and have been calling for the push of Aaron Henare for ages now, so good for those guys gaining some credibility in New Japan.
On the devil's advocate side of the fence, it's not like New Japan is the only company harboring folk charged with sexually deviant misconduct. Matt Riddle has the US title and is on TV every week despite the fact that he's actually about to head into a legal hearing over past misconduct. Jordan Devlin's defending a cruiserweight championship tonight despite allegations of domestic abuse still hanging over his head. Austin Theory and Velveteen Dream are on the same roster as the guy and have both been accused of soliciting minors. Over in Impact, Rich Swann and Su Yung are sharing the same roster after Swann was released from WWE over being arrested for alleged domestic abuse against Su! If rumors are to be believed on the AEW side of things, they're looking to hire buddy Marty Scurll and Tessa Blanchard once things 'cool down' around them.
Wrestling as a whole needs to change. It's not just one company.
