Why can't I keep up with basic tasks?

I can't keep up with showering, eating healthy, laundry, i brush my teeth everyday but i can't get myself to brush them before bed so I brush them every morning when I get up- I'm scared I'm developing tooth infections (I already have a root canal).

In terms of studying, I've TRIED HARD to find my passion or force myself to do something I don't like and nothing has worked out for me. But I know when I was in college I was socially ostracised and alone with no friends for 3 years and I just had work, work and more coursework. My mind started associating the depression and loneliness I went through with my classwork. Every time I tried to do my coursework I would get extremely lonely.

In terms of my life, I'm going through major difficult financial struggles. This is one of the biggest struggles in my life. Could it be this struggle is why my mind or subconscious mind doesn't want me to do the self care tasks? Because fear of homelessness and financial struggles so it regards the self care tasks as irrelevant?

I think you have figured out the answer to your question, and it is in your third paragraph.  You're not alone, as the whole country is dealig with the pandemic, and it too has added to the stress in everybodies Lives. Don't give up.  Do the best you can.  Be kind to yourself.  You will make it through.  We all will make it through.  But it will be a struggle.  If you believe in God, or Jesus, leave a lot of this crap at His feet, and just do the best you can, and let the chips fall where they do.  I wish you well dear friend.

  • because you're useless.

Yes, it could be that the financial stresses are overwhelming your capacity to deal with your own daily upkeep. You could be mentally exhausted from the financial issue. That's one of the ways stress works. If you can find yourself some no-cost counseling or speak with a social worker, it might help you deal with the stress.
