Am I a beta because I tend to be quiet with people I am not comfortable with and have a tough time with social cues?

I was recently called a beta by a close friend who considers himself alpha since he's constantly obnoxious and loud. I am a young successful business owner with a lucrative 7-figure business and have several employees under me. I am the quiet one in the room if I don't feel comfortable with people I'm surrounded with. I do what I want when I want when it comes to financials, IE purchase luxury cars, and go on vacations. My social qualities may be perceived as introverted but I feel like an extrovert since I always want to go out and be with people, I just have a tough time communicating comfortably and have a subconscious fear of not being accepted for saying the wrong things.
