Whats it like working as a prison escort?

I looked online re: what that refers to, which is apparently for those in the U.K.  A prison escort is supposed to help the Security team.  One such job listing on indeed mentioned that duties of a "prison escort" may include:

Checking and searching contractors entering the site.

Contractor tool checks and keeping a record of tools brought onto the site.

Supervising contractors whilst onsite.

Searching buildings.

Vehicle checks.

Radio handling.

Stores duties.

Following health and safety procedures.

The job listing further mentions that the job applicant will be confident and possess good people skills, must be vigilant and aware of your surroundings, and has good attention to detail.

One must pass the DBS of a standard/enhanced level.  The DBS apparently refers to "disclosing and barring service," which used to be referred to as the "criminal records bureau (CRB).

That job listing further mentions that "if you already hold a current DBS, EL1 or EL2, previous CTC clearance or worked in that environment before, we are looking to speak with you."  (The CTC may stand for "counter terrorist check.")
