Question about being hired for Barnes and Noble?

I submitted an application to work at Barnes and Noble, they only take online applications. The way their site works is to have this timeline showing the progress of your application. But so far it's been 2 weeks and it's still on the first stage. Should I call where I applied to and ask how my application, or is this just something they don't control by the store itself or something and I just have to wait?

Any tips or advice for this? I'm waiting to see if they call me in for an interview at least

Accepting applications does not actually mean they are hiring.  Usually unless you have some experience, you won't be considered.

Does the location you applied to have any current openings?

It's not going to progress if there are no jobs to hire you into.

I would call and follow up. You have absolutely nothing to lose by doing so.
