Its an accurate comparison, because both involve cult members whose leader incites them to commit violent crimes.

 - Brainwashing requires physical nearness and constant interaction. Trump never had either.

 - 75 million Trump voters heard "march peacefully and patriotically and make your voices heard. We did NOT hear an incitement to violence. 

 - ONLY QAnon followers were told to be violent.

Both cowards with personal vendettas who used their followers to avenge whatever wrongdoing they failed to get over while they safely hid in bunkers.
