Could those girls from DC be tried as adults and serve a life sentence?

how often does involuntary manslaughter count as murder if a life was taken while committing grand theft larceny? I know a lot of clowns out there might say that the driver made a choice by trying to defend his livelihood and should have left the car and called the police (assuming he had insurance with that specific coverage). Most of us acknowledge that the girl was more worried about her phone than the human life she and her friend caused, but also because the phone was evidence, so of course she would reach for it (isn't that attempted evasion of evidence?)

The 15-year-old could be tried as an adult, but the district attorney has already said that's not going to happen. They will neither be sent to an adult prison, nor incarcerated beyond their 21st birthdays.

That depends on the law where they crime occurred.  You can't just make it murder because it happened while a crime was being committed, that has to already be in the law.
