What are the chances of an immigrant Democrat winning a gubernatorial or senate seat in Texas?

I have a classmate from college who's originally an immigrant from Russia 🇷🇺, but moved to Texas when she was 6 years old, was a campaign volunteer for the campaigns of Beto O'Rourke, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden in Texas, believes in most liberal issues (such as justice reform, pro-immigration and universal healthcare), soon to graduate 🎓 from Texas A&M, looking to do her masters degree at NYU and does have plans to run for Texas governor or senator sometime in the future.

Based on these credentials, would it be likely that she could win an election in still mostly conservative Texas?

If not, what issues do you see in a possible future campaign?

Very possible within the next decade

Texas will be blue by 2030

And I say that as a Texan

Very possible. She should start, of course, with running for the state le, toegislature from an area that typically votes Democrat. There are more and more of those in Texas. Texas did, at one time, have a liberal governor- Anne Richards. Senator is harder- somehow the farmers keep outvoting the people in the cities- that happens in my state, too. We have a Democrat in the House of Representatives from my city, but the Senators will always be Republican.
