Why did Anthony Fauci said he was “not really sure” why Covid numbers are dropping in Texas with no mask mandate?

He probably is sure but he does not want to say.

On Inauguration Day (coincidence) the WHO tightened up the rules for COVID-19 testing. They drew attention to the number of PCR cycles used. There is no universal standard and some labs were cranking up the gain and finding everyone positive.

When the number of cycles was reduced it would automatically reduce the number of positive tests. That is one reason that the inventor of the PCR process, Kary Mullis, said it was not to be used for testing!

Imagine, they can crank up and down the number of positive cases at will. Who knew?

Presumably because he's not sure.  There's multiple reasons why the numbers could be low.  The one which is least favorable to Texas is under reporting.  Some states test less than others do and if you don't test you don't find cases.  It could be that the warming weather is cutting down on transmission (many tropical countries have been less hard hit than the developed world, in part because warm moist air seems to carry respiratory particles more poorly and thus reduce transmission.  Although this explanation wouldn't seem to apply because Texas saw a massive massive outbreak last year in Summer).  It could be that the massive infections which Texas saw previously have left a lot of people with acquired immunity which is helping them slow the spread of the disease.  It could be that we're seeing the emergence of a less transmissable variant in Texas.  We just don't know why the numbers are going down.

Fauci has gotten more Wrong than he has gotten right, but no one takes the time to actually see that. 

His comments are all over the map.   Were he commenting on something irrelevant, we wouldn't care, but his comments affect businesses, the economy and cause sanctimonious shrieking among those who hang on his every word.

Fauci is on record as saying that COVID is not airborne and proper sanitation is more important than mask wearing...

...then he said that COVID is definitely airborne and that masks should be worn at all times...

...then, after being spotted maskless on numerous occasions, he said masks only needed to be worn when in close contact...

...when there was a run on medical-grade masks, he said that cloth masks were just as effective....

...then when he recommended TWO masks be worn, he said he only recommended cloth masks to prevent a shortage of medical-grade masks...

...oh...and the CDC just announced that mask and "ventilation" are much more important than sanitizing surfaces...just in time to support reopening the economy without burdening schools and businesses with their sanitizing recommendations from last year...

he'll think of something soon....I'm sure...

They’re dropping becuase of the vaccines. Mask mandate or not, most have their mind made up to wear one or not wear one anyway. Fauci is probably hoping that cases go back up there, that way he can be proven right.

I get it now, if you don't wear a mask you have a lesser chance of getting the virus. Only Hannity could bring that idea to the forefront

Because he is an actual scientist and smart person who doesn't make up crap, unlike Trump.
