Let's say someone at the grocery store check out doesn't have money to buy their food that cost about $60.00, what would a real Christian do?

Someone following the Bible's Jesus would help.
Someone following Republican Jesus would not, because it would foster dependence.

1) Ask them why the flurk they would bring $60 worth of food to the checkout when you know you don't have $60.
2) Give them directions to the homeless food pantry where I donate food just to help people like that.

Think "Oh no! I'm not falling for that again!"

What is a "real Christian"? The answer is probably the same for a "real" Hindu, Jew, Jain, or Muslim. It would depend on the personality, how much money they had, etc. Pqliar question.

I don't think it's distinguishable by just Christian. I will make the assertion that most people if they have the funds ...would help the person out...Christian or not.
I have done that several times.....you can tell the people who are struggling.
Sometimes it's coming up short, sometimes they are having their kids return things.
One time in line there were three of us who offered to pay ...and we all split it.

No matter who they are (even if I knew they were rich), if they are just short a little money, I'd give them the money if I had it (and I've actually done that on occasion).
But if they went to the trouble of shopping, knowing that they didn't have the money, with the intent of troubling someone for it later, I wouldn't give them a dime. That's being dishonest, and I wouldn't want to reward dishonesty.
Here's the truth in America. If you have no money, you will not starve, and can even avoid hunger. We've got food coming out the wazoo. I recall the story of the little Asian Indian girl who told her father she wanted to move to America. He asked her why, and she replied that she wanted to live where the poor people were fat. Sometimes you'll see a 400 pounder on the Walmart motorized cart paying for her groceries with a food-stamp card.
