Should I still care about where I was 5-6 years ago?

5–6 years ago I was at my complete worse. I looked a mess, I was a janitor at multiple jobs and I feel like people could sense that I was dirty and got the wrong idea about me. I have since pulled myself up and is doing really good for myself now. But I’m on the verge of gaining some popularity, I will be on a TV show soon…and I worry someone would remember for looking bad 5–6 years ago. Should I care?

I never did drugs, I never looked like a drug addict. I just wasn't at my best.

  • People do have phases like that. You should look back on it, but try to be positive about it since it contributed to who you are today.

I was stuck in retail for years, barely getting hours and barely being able to survive. Now I work full time and I have a job that I love. I'm being payed better and treated better then any job I've had.

Yes.  Where you were in life before contributes to who you are today.  Knowing that you have pulled yourself out of your rut is a triumph you should be proud to claim.
