Does anyone know if Yahoo's download will include answers to our questions?
You'd think it would, but here is what they say in their help file, under 'what content is available to me'. (link in closure message):
"Your Yahoo Answers data download will return all user-generated content including your Questions list, Questions, Answers list, Answers, and any images. You won't be able to download other users' content, questions, or answers."

No, it won't unfortunately. It will literally only be text that you produced devoid of all context, so that also means that if you answered questions you won't know which questions your answers pertained to. All context will be gone.
This is what they did the first time they removed comments from the news section. When they were returned all the context had been stripped from the history, so what had been conversations between commenters made no sense anymore. They can't give you other peoples' creative output (such as it is). It means you didn't sign your soul over when you signed up here and the copyright still resides with you.

Thank you so much for the answer. Asked the question four times!
So I went to my profile, clicked the question tab, scrolled all the way to the bottom-- IMPORTANT-- saved the webpage in chrome (3 dots) more tools, save page as. Did the same thing with the answers tab. Then I saved the html files created in ms word so I could edit them. Plus the load faster. So apparently I have the same thing Yahoo is giving us, except mine is in readable format. They're giving us a .JSON file, which is java oriented computer code!
