Is the rapture going to happen soon ?

What IS going to happen soon?  Jesus tells us that God's word is the truth.  So what does God's word tell us is going to happen soon?  Please note that the Scriptures describe the exact opposite of the teaching of the rapture - Proverbs 2:21 & 22 - 21 For only the upright will reside in the earth, And the blameless will remain in it. 22 As for the wicked, they will be cut off from the earth, And the treacherous will be torn away from it.  - - - -  So, who does God's word of truth tell us are going to be removed from the earth?  Torn away from it?  And who are going to be left on it?  This passage describes the conditions on earth AFTER the wicked and treacherous are removed - Psalm 37:10 & 11 - 10 Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. 11 But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.  - - - -  Peace all over the globe.  And as one of your other answers brought out, everlasting life on the earth (Psalm 37:29).  This is similar to what Jesus said about the mild tempered (meek) inheriting the earth - Matthew 5:5 - Happy are the mild-tempered, since they will inherit the earth.  - - - - 

Just as in Noah's day, it is the "ungodly" people that will be gone - 2 Peter 3:7 -

But by the same word the heavens and the earth that now exist are reserved for fire and are being kept until the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly people.  - - - -  Many misunderstand that Scripture to mean that the earth is going to be burned up.  Rather, it brings out that the destruction is going to be of the ungodly people.  Also, mankind's governments are going to be removed - Daniel 2:44 - “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever,  - - - -  That is similar to what is described in the last book of the Bible - Revelation 16:14 - They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and they perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the entire inhabited earth, to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty.  - - - -  Kings (or ruling powers) of the entire inhabited earth!  Afterwards, God is going to establish HIS government to rule the earth.  The King James bible, that was written in the early 1600s speaks about God's government here - Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.  - - - -  The Scriptures tell us that God wants everyone to have an accurate knowledge of truth about these things - 1 Timothy 2:4 – whose (God’s) will is that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.  - - - -  Did you notice that it shows that accurate knowledge leads to people being saved?  Saved when the wicked are destroyed.  Just like accurate knowledge from the authorities can protect us when a storm is coming, accurate knowledge from God's word of truth can help us to survive the storm of Armageddon.  Accurate knowledge can help us to make adjustments in our lives, so that we can be viewed by God as "upright" and "blameless" when he brings wickedness to an end.  As mentioned at Proverbs 2:21 & 22, quoted above.  But we must make sure that we get accurate knowledge.  Because many religions are not teaching the truth (accurate knowledge).  Why?  Because they are under the influence of Satan the devil - 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 – 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps disguising himself as an angel of light. 15 It is therefore nothing extraordinary if his ministers also keep disguising themselves as ministers of righteousness. There shall be no pre-Tribulation rapture.  Christ will gather the righteous to him after the trials of the last days, not before.

Will Christ return soon?  That depends on the definition of "soon".  A prophet of God, Ezra Taft Benson, told a young adult conference I attended in the 80s that mine is the generation that must be prepared to meet Christ.  I figure we have from seven to 30 years left before Christ's public return.

There is no pre-tribulation rapture, it is not Biblical.

There is a post-tribulation gathering back to Christ.

Jesus comes back at the LAST Trump, the Tribulation happens before this at the sixth Trump.

The word “rapture” does not occur in the inspired Scriptures. 

If all faithful Christians will be bodily caught up from the earth, suddenly taken out of the world, how would you explain this scripture?

 when you die, all good people go to heaven, then if that is so, where do the righteous that live on earth forever come from if all righteous are in heaven.
