Acceptance takes time, get to know children over time without being pushy or aggressive. Ask spouse to help.

If you are smart, you never get involved with a man or woman that has kids from another marriage.

When you don't provide any detail at all, even ages and how many, only the most bored of people will try to help you.  Living situation matters, too.

How? By accepting that your loved one comes as a package, and the children are just a part of the task of loving them.

This is so sad. Erma Bombeck once wrote about the man her mother remarried that she considered him her father, and that they treated each other like family. It's great to have family- and it doesn't matter if they're related by blood or not. Why would you not accept them?

I wouldn't...what would I do with someone else's kids in the long run?

    Is this my responsibility ?

How would step children accept me?

If you don't have a decent relationship with them before you get married, don't get married. You'll be fu¢king miserable.

    You don't. Remarrying is wrong.
