  • Why has my pc started to switch itself off after 40-60 mins of inactivity?

my PC (which runs runs vista) has started switching itself off after a period of inactivity. It is not the power saving settings and it does not shut down properly. I have given it a good clean in case it was overheating but this has not helped

  • what will i miss with my D3100?

I read a lot of answers on here and a couple of reviews saying don't get an entry level DSLR camera as you will grow out of it. What will I miss with my Nikon D3100? Are there really that many more ways to use a more expensive camera? are we talking gimmicks? is there a lot of equipment envy and snobbery in the photography world (like folk who like to squeeze 2 more BHP out their car so they can bore folk in the pub). or are there real genuine, usable real world advantages.

  • whats the best way to get prints from your dslr camera?

I don't have a printer at the moment but I am thinking of getting one mainly for printing out my digital photos.

Taking into account cost per print, convenience and the quality of the end result is it best to go to Jessops or the like, use an online service or print at home.

  • how do i calibrate my pc monitor so it looks the same as prints?

I have recently bought a digital SLR camera (nikon D3100). I have taken some pictures and have been messing about with them with view NX2 and photoshop elements. but then the thought cam to me that i may be wasting my time fiddling with the white balance and such if my monitors contrast, gamma whatsits and other settings are not going to be the same as the cameras or where ever i get prints done.

Does it matter. If so is there any easy way to calibrate. i have had a look at a few articles on line but they have given me a confused headache.

    thanks

  • is sky broadband really that bad?

i was thinking of switching from bt broadband to sky, we want the HD tv but i have only been able to find fairly negative reviews of Sky's broadband service. Is this just because a greater proportion of people with gripes get on the net for a moan ar is it really that bad?
