I imagine it is art imitating life, but much like people blend Genesis from the bible and Paradise Lost, the episodes from the show seem close enough to what I've heard to be accepted as reality.

Is the show accurate in it's stories? Would it be safe to say the show is factual at least when it is name dropping (NPR did blah, vs congressman made up guy was beat by tea party)?

She claims to have seen the cop and then see the sign for the school zone and promptly got off the phone before entering the school zone. But the cop still gave her a ticket. Is there any way she can prove she wasn't on the phone in the school zone? I was thinking maybe her cellphone provider might be able to provide her location when the call was disconnected, but I don't think she will have much luck if her GPS wasn't on. She was using an iphone with AT&T.

The ticket is $300.

So I started a position a few years ago as 50% Medical driver and 50% office assistant. 2yrs into it management needs someone to hold the hand of the new Medical director and comes up with a plan to nod at my boss for the position to be the Medical director's assistant and I would go from 50% office assistant to 100% admin position and still do Medical driving when other drivers take off and that i should get a modest amount for a raise.

As the place we work has very strict hiring rules things must be official. A year after doing the duties of an admin position i have NOT been hired into an admin position or been given a pay raise, though they made it official with my boss about 6 months after the under the table changes where she officially received the title and pay.

Now my situation is different in that my current salary group is the SAME as what my bosses WAS. But as some of you may know the range of a salary group can span a bit, and in my case its range is about $13,000. I am at the base end of of my salary group, and she was slightly above midpoint before she was hired to her other position.

Due to the shell game that my place of business plays with job positions, her position was 'borrowed' from another department and then promptly exchanged with her former position.

So I spoke with the head person of my job location today who told me because I was already in the salary group for my bosses old admin position that i would NOT be receiving a raise and the reason i had not had a change in my job title or any kind of shell game played for me is because there would be no benefit since i wasnt going to get a pay raise anyways.

I cant help but feel like I was taken for a ride. I wasnt expecting to receive my bosses salary, though she had done the job with an assistant while i do it without, and i was at least hoping to get halfway between my current salary and hers.

Also seeing how this is something those in upper management would have seen from the start, I just cant shake the feeling that i have been screwed. My job desciption is for driving and assisting with "other duties as assigned" but I just curious whether you think I should fight this or just be happy im inside out from the heat.

Besides the shame that I feel everyday, i believe my boss is a very vindictive woman and if i were to fight to get back to my old duties which are listed on my job description, the legal document i signed when i took my job 3 years ago, she would make it so uncomfortable for me she would force me to resign. And since this scheme goes at least up to the head of the region that i am in I worry that bringing down that deck of cards would put me in bad favor with many of those in power.

So i suspect my only option is to shut up and do it and look for another job, or fight it and risk burning all my bridges. Or should i just be happy and do the job and hopefully one day receive a raise?

PS its late, i've been dwelling on this all day so bear with me and try to read my mind if i left out words. :^)

I have an Olympus Pen E-PL1 that i purchased off of craigslist and have found I can not use aftermarket lenses, for example i got this lens off of ebay, 0.42X Wide Angle Lens for Olympus Pen E-P1 E-P2 E-PL1, and it attaches to the M. Zuiko 14-42 lens' smaller piece that extends and retracts from it when zooming in or out, and I believe the additional weight causes the camera to be unable to focus and brings up a lens error (literally an error saying to check the lens and it wont take the picture), this occurs even with Manual Focus turned on and Autofocus turned off.

I am seeing some other aftermarket lenses that look like they attach directly to the camera, but do not have the little metal pieces that connect with metal pins in the camera (i guess for auto focus). I was wondering if anyone had used lenses without these metal spots along the camera end of the lens and if it would bring up an error in the camera. Or if it worked fine without a problem.

And the other possibility, could it just be that i bought a Lemon of a camera from someone off of craigslist?

What lenses have you used with your Olympus Pen? I am wanting to use aftermarket lenses on my camera instead of buying professional lenses that exceed the price of the camera.

I purchased this camera because I didnt want to have the big ol SLR canon, can you suggest an SLR that can use aftermarket lenses? or is this a common issue through out the SLR industry.

Not trying to be difficult or trolling, but why did jesus die? And why couldn't God just do that anyways? He is God after all. The only answer I have come up with is that its because we are petty skeptical things and without a grandiose performance we wouldn't have paid attention to what God was trying to tell us.

at the suggestion of some fish enthusiast, I removed an Under Gravel Filter from my 37 gallon Oranda fish tank. When I did I discovered large amounts of gunk and stuff under the filter. I have read the reviews on how inefficient and poorly the UGF's work compared to HOB or canister filters, but the amount of gunk that collected underneath still got me wondering, why not just make use of it? Its not as if this stuff was going to be sucked up by my HOB filter and the only way it was going to come out was with gravel suctioning (but only if i didnt have the UGF holding it down there in the first place).

So wouldnt it make sense to use a UGF for cleaning rather than maintenance? I dont mean to use it with a HOB or Canister, but to use it with a gravel vac or as the gravel vac. It would seem to me that with enough suction you could do a very good job of cleaning your gravel with one of these under it.

Remove your fish like you usually do during water changes and cleanings,shut off your HOB filter, and then hook a dry/wet vac (just suggesting this as an example of the type of power you would need) to a fitted port on the UGF and let it rip, all the while your agitating the gravel/ substrate with a stick or something.

I dunno, it seems like this would be more efficient than those gravel suctions which to me never seem to get it clean and I always end up taking out more water than I would like to.

Also it would turn the greatest flaw of the UGF into its greatest benefit.

I have only used it maybe 5 times, the first couple were to install antivirus and customize it right after i purchased it back after thanksgiving. then i put it away for christmas and opened it today. Maybe this was caused by preinstalled samsung software, but the harddrive is partitioned into 40gb and 177gb, with my operating system on the 40GB. Nothing is on the 177gb and only a Windows 7 Starter, preinstalled bloatware, default samsung software, and a wall paper app (since windows starter wont let you just change the wallpaper, lol) are on the 40gb.

So there wont be any loss of love if i just wipe the harddrive, but unfortunately, i cant just wipe it either. I dont have a copy of Windows 7 to reinstall and like most netbooks, no DVD/CD drive.

I have downloaded Minitool Partition Wizard free edition, the upgraded editions say they can merge the hard drive, but i dont want to drop $40 to find out it cant. I have heard Partition Magic is good but can be complicated, and without a way to reinstall windows i dont want to mess anything up.

I want to combine the two or at least resize them so that i can play games.... which will have to be playable off the hdd since there is no CD/dvd drive.

Check the water, its only issue (which is always this way cause of the water) is a little more base than neutral. Ammonia is safe, all others safe to ideal. Did a 30% change yesterday but have been like this since last change which may have stressed them (installed undergravel filter) but I wouldn't think they would be like this that long, it has been three weeks.

Also, since the undergravel install I have had red rust algae on the glass and decorations.

Hi, we are from Texas and we are going to visit NYC for new years, my wife stubbornly choose fashion over function and has a cute parka jacket thick enough to keep her warm for temps in the 40's with no wiind. She now is starting to stress out about the up coming trip to NYC and how her new cute jacket won't keep her warm and she must buy a new one... I would rather avoid that since she just spent the $200 on this one only a couple months ago. So what I am trying to find is an undergarment alternative, but all the reviews I read talk about the functionality of UnderArmour and Military grade polypropylene under garments in strictly outdoor activity scenarios.

What about when you trade your windy 20 degree street for a warmer 60 degree or 70 degree building? Will you stay comfortable or burn up? Its easy to take a coat off but this underwear type clothes stays on. Any thoughts or suggestions? Or do we need to break down and buy her that new coat... which at this point would cut into our New York spending budget.

I'm looking at the cheaper canon SLRs, probably a rebel, or one of the interchangeable cameras like the olympus pen or even canon sx30is (which can have different lens with an adapter). I really like the customization of certain settings on my old canon s2is and rarely used auto. But I don't even understand what is so great about SLR's. It seems the people that have them take pictures that look the same as my powershots, so I'm guessing its because they don't understand the abilities of their SLR and would be better off using the Auto setting on cheapo powershots. What's your thought? Are low end SLR's all that much better than a high end powershot or olympus pen? Or is it more how you use it that makes the difference?

I noticed these little fish kind of looked like the A-5 aircraft which look like the Inca Airplane. The Corydoras are from south america so maybe?

I have a 37 gallon aquarium with multiple species of fish in it. It started with 3 Cory Catfish, 5 Koi Angels, and 11 neon tetras.

Now we have 4 Koi Angels (took an overly aggressive one back), 1 neon tetra, and 2 Cory Cats (possibly only 1 tomorrow.)

The neon tetras would disappear, we theorize that they were just sick and would get weak and die and then be eaten by the rest of the tank (we say they died first since the neons dont show any fear of the angels, also three of the angels are as long as a large neon)

a month ago we restocked the tank with larger tetras, 5 serpae and 3 glowlight to school with the 3 remaining neons. we now have 1 neon, 5 serpae, and 2 glowlights left.

also we have had 1 cory cat die and another one isnt looking so good, though albino it is extremely pale and less active.

The sick cory cat is the only one to have shown signs of sickness, the rest just disappeared one night, (except the other cory cat, his corpse was untouched).

His symptoms are pale color, little to no activity, and his side fins look like toothpicks, just straight and narrow. And I doubt its anything, but the one that died would swim vertically and kind of hover tail-end down about the heater and then rest on it, he did this about a week.

I did a 25% water change yesterday (used water condition and ezyme), checked ammonia levels this morning after finding a cory cat dead and its between safe and caution (probably because I just did a water change the day before).

One other note, all the fish I have gotten from Petco have died, the Koi Angels are from a mom and pop fish store, the 2 surviving cory's are from Petsmart, all the neons from petco, the serpae from petsmart, and glowlights from petsmart. (in another tank, 36gallon, i have had 2 orandas, one replaced the other, from petco die and make two other orandas from the mom and pop store sick, I medicated the tank)(in my cichlid tank 47 gallons, all mom and pop, i havnt had a single death)

Any ideas would be appreciated.

the tank has been set up about 7 months. we have had the two remaining cory cats about a year, (they lived in a 10 gallon)

This is the closest we have gotten to finding this type of jacket. We saw one in H&M Tokyo back when we were there but there was a huge gash inside of it, so we didnt purchase it, thinking we wouldnt have any trouble finding it online. We have since had little luck finding these.

I have it loaded on to Windows 7 which is dual booted on my mac, but its having virus issues and patch issues, so i want to put it on the mac partition (i thought originally i would have to buy a WOW for mac separately). I never bought the box version of WoW so I was wondering if i download the trial version if that would work or if I would just have to redownload the non-trial version later.

I was going to buy the retail version of Windows XP but the price is almost equal to Windows 7, So should i buy Windows 7? I have an iMac and it can run both operating systems, I will mainly just use it to play old games and if i get Windows 7 I may upgrade my wifes laptop from Vista.
